My paintings are expressions of the moment.... sometimes just working with colour and shape...at other times trying to convey a sense of freedom, space & my own internal journeys.

I just wanted to tell you that your work has really inspired me. I am just starting out in this business….I noticed that a lot of people don’t “get” my abstracts….so I started painting landscapes (I suck at them). So I am back painting abstracts…..and starting to really enjoy myself…..that is what I am made to do…..Just wanted to tell you how inspirational you are!!!! Thanks!

Thanks Kathy. I wouldn’t worry about the fact nobody “gets” your abstracts…..you’ll deviate from your true course, your innate abilities if you pander to a pressure to make your works more transparent in terms of their meaning. I explain very few of mine (Depth Charge being an exception) and prefer to leave it to the viewer to come to a conclusion. I’m just happy that they elicit an emotion (its what art is all about)...and if someone understands the underpinning significance then that’s a bonus. I paint for the pleasure it gives me…I have no other reason. Viewer feedback, such as yours, just adds more to the enjoyment I derived in creating it.Take care. Rod
